01The short version
Two different things are worth keeping separate, because they live in different places:
- The website — this marketing site. If you ask for a demo or early access, the only thing we collect is the email address you type into the form (and anything else you choose to add, like your name or company). That's it.
- The app — the Perfect Takeoff analyzer itself. It runs in your browser. Your plan sets are read and marked up on your own machine — we don't run a server that stores your drawings. More on that in §04.
We don't sell your information. We don't warehouse contractor drawings. And because the product is early access, we tell you plainly what's still being built rather than implying more than exists. If you'd rather read the deeper, architecture-level version of the data story, that's the data handling & security page.
The site collects the email you give us so we can contact you about early access. Your actual plans and takeoffs stay on your computer. Nothing is sold, and nothing is warehoused.
02What the website collects
When you fill in the early-access / request-a-demo form, we collect what you put in it:

We do not ask for and do not want payment details on this site during early access, and we don't collect your plan files through the website. The form is the whole data-collection surface here.
During the preview, the form may be wired to a standard form service (see §03) so your message reaches us. If that's live when you submit, your email passes through that service under its terms. If the form isn't wired to a backend yet, submitting it won't send anything — we'd rather say that than pretend a message went through.
03Who we share it with
We don't sell your data or hand it to advertisers. A small number of service providers help run the site and the product, and only touch what they need to do their job:
- The form / email service — the tool that delivers your early-access request to us (for example a hosted forms backend). It processes the email you submit so we receive it.
- The site host — the platform that serves these pages handles standard web-server logs.
- Anthropic (in the app only) — when you use the app's AI device recognition, plan images go directly from your browser to Anthropic's Claude API for processing, and come straight back. This happens in the app, not on this website, and is covered in §04.
- Accounts & billing (when live) — once sign-in exists, a standard auth/billing layer will know who you are and what plan you're on — deliberately kept separate from what you're bidding.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and integrity of the service — the standard, narrow exceptions any operator has.
04Your plans stay on your machine
This is the part contractors care about most, so here's the specific, honest version — and it's true because of how the app is built, not because of a promise:
- Your PDF plan set is read in your browser. The app renders and parses it locally using pdf.js (the same open-source engine that ships in Firefox). It is not uploaded to a Perfect Takeoff server — there is no such server in the takeoff path.
- The one time plan images leave your computer is the AI recognition step: image tiles go directly from your browser to Anthropic's API and the recognized devices come back. Perfect Takeoff keeps no copy in between. Anthropic processes those images under its own commercial API terms. This section is being finalised.
- Your takeoff, BOM, and quote are computed locally from the placed devices — math running on your machine, nothing stored off-device.
- Your saved projects live on your device (browser localStorage / IndexedDB), and you can export any project as a portable .ptproj file to back up or hand off. Your work is yours to move — it isn't locked in a vendor cloud.
Because the app is local-first, there is no central vault of contractor drawings to breach in the first place. Your pricing, labor rates, and win values never leave your device at all. For a solo estimator or a small shop bidding sensitive work, that's a stronger posture than most cloud takeoff tools.

If any future change ever moves plan processing onto a server, this page and that one both get updated before it ships.
05Your choices & deletion
You're in control of the little we hold:
- Ask us to delete your email. Email us any time (see §08) and we'll remove your address from our early-access list. No hoops.
- Ask what we have. Want to know what's on file for you, or correct it? Just ask — it's a short list.
- Unsubscribe. Any early-access email we send will have a way to opt out, and we'll honor it.
- Clear the app's local data yourself. Because saves live in your own browser storage, you can clear them from your side at any time — and export a .ptproj first if you want to keep the work.
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. We'll honor those requests for the email and contact details you've given us; reach us at the address in §08.
06Cookies & analytics
We aim to keep this site light and respectful. We don't run advertising trackers, and we don't sell behavioral data. If we add analytics during the preview, the plan is a privacy-friendly, cookieless option (the kind that measures page views without profiling individuals or needing a cookie banner). The app itself stores data locally on your device (localStorage / IndexedDB) so your saved work persists between sessions — that storage stays on your machine and isn't a tracking cookie. This section is being finalised.
07Early-access terms
Perfect Takeoff is in early access — a preview, offered so working estimators can try it and shape it. A few plain expectations so we're on the same page:
- It's a preview, and it will change. Features, workflows, and pricing may be added, changed, or removed as the product develops. Early-access pricing is introductory and isn't a locked-in commitment for the future.
- No formal SLA yet. We work to keep the app reliable, but during early access there's no uptime guarantee or contractual service level. Please don't treat the preview as if it carried one.
- You review every takeoff. Perfect Takeoff produces computer-assisted draft takeoffs for estimating and coordination — not stamped engineered designs. Every quantity, device location, and code application is subject to your review and to a licensed fire-protection engineer and the authority having jurisdiction. You are responsible for what you send to a customer or submit for permit.
- Provided "as is" during the preview. To the extent the law allows, the early-access preview is provided without warranties, and our liability for the free/preview service is limited. This isn't us hiding — it's the honest footing for a tool you're helping us test.
- Your feedback helps. If you tell us what's wrong or what's missing, we may use that feedback to improve the product. We won't publish your name or company without asking.
Early access is a two-way deal: you get the tool early and cheap, we get real estimators pressure-testing it. The terms above just make that honest and mutual — nothing here is a trap.
08Changes & contact
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and move the "last updated" date at the top. For anything material during early access, we'll aim to tell the people on our list directly.
