Privacy Policy

Short version: Your construction drawings never leave your computer. Perfect Takeoff runs entirely in your browser. We do not upload, store, or transmit your PDF files to any server. The only data that leaves your device is what you voluntarily submit through our contact form.

1. Who we are

Perfect Takeoff is a fire alarm plan analysis tool operated as an independent software product. For questions about this policy, contact us at mountzouresz@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to operate:

Contact form submissions — when you request access or contact us through our website, we collect your name, email address, company name, and the information you provide in the form. This is submitted to Formspree and forwarded to our email.
Analytics — our website uses privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrer sources). No personal identifiers are tracked and no cookies are set for analytics purposes.
Nothing else. We do not collect your construction drawings, project data, device placements, or any content you work with inside the tool.

3. How the tool handles your files

The Perfect Takeoff analyzer is a single HTML file that runs 100% in your web browser. When you upload a PDF:

The file is processed locally by your browser's JavaScript engine — it never leaves your machine.
If you use AI analysis mode, the tool sends individual page images to the Anthropic Claude API using your own API key. These API calls are made directly from your browser using your key. We never see, store, or have access to your API key or the content of those requests.
Project data (device placements, room classifications, BOM) is stored in your browser's local IndexedDB. It stays on your device unless you explicitly export a .ptproj file.

4. Third-party services

Anthropic Claude API — used in AI analysis mode. Your API key and drawing content go directly from your browser to Anthropic. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to those requests. See anthropic.com/privacy.
Formspree — used to process contact form submissions on our landing page. See formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
Plausible Analytics — privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics on our landing page. No personal data is collected. See plausible.io/privacy.

5. Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained in our email and Formspree dashboard until we delete them. You may request deletion at any time by emailing mountzouresz@gmail.com.

Project data stored in your browser's IndexedDB remains under your control. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data or using the Delete button in the tool's Projects tab.

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by contacting us at mountzouresz@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Security

Because your drawings and project data are processed and stored locally in your browser, the security of that data is subject to your device's security controls. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
